The Around the back, the Lamp post, the Sky, the Frankie, the Lindy flip, etc… Few aerials have as many names, but regardless of how you call it, the Around the back (this is the term we decided to use after reading Frankie Manning’s biography) is probably the most iconic aerial in Lindy Hop and Swing dancing.

As part of our Building The Community effort, we’ve decided to start this new project.
Our main goal is to make aerials more accessible, less frightening, safer and more present in the current and future Swing dance communities.

Unfortunately, many dancers who got into Lindy Hop after having been thrilled and impressed when seeing Swing dancers doing aerials, end up not learning or doing any after years of dancing.
